"I am with you always, even to the end of the age." - Matthew 28:20

Christ's followers have an assignment and a promise to the end of the age. The assignment is to penetrate the world with Christ's Gospel. The promise is that of His enduring presence all the way. He is with us in two ways, objectively and manifestly. His objective presence is the promise of the presence, and His manifest presence is the presence of the promise. He is with us because He promised He would be. Yet Christ's manifest presence comes as we experience His nearness, or see some tangible expression of His power. The objective presence reassures us and the manifest presence transforms us.
