He’s there

For the ways of man are before the eyes of the LORD, and He ponders all his paths. Proverbs 5:21 (NKJV)

God is invisible. And with that comes a great opportunityâ€"the opportunity to exercise faith. If we could see God, or if we could perceive His presence through the aid of our five senses, we’d be stuck in a state of spiritual infancy and would never grow as people who live by faith.

But along with that opportunity comes a challenge. Because God is invisible, it’s often easy for us to overlook His presence in our lives. We don’t see Him, and if we’re not firm in our faith, we may question or even forget that He’s there.

Let’s be honest: The temptation to gravitate toward that sort of mindset is very realâ€"and dangerous. It’s a lot like an ocean current that drives a helpless vessel against a rocky coastline. So how can we escape its powerful pull?

We escape the drift of doubt by simply going to God’s Word. What does it tell us? In Proverbs 5:21 we’re reminded and reassured that “the ways of man are before the eyes of the Lord, and He ponders all his paths.” The reality of this simple truth has the power to be a huge game-changer in our daily lives.

The things we choose to watch, to listen to, to entertain, to talk about, to invest inâ€"all of these things will undergo a healthy refinement when we ponder this Proverb. God is invisible, yes. But no less real than anything we can touch, taste, or see. He is really there, even as you’re reading this.

Let this profound reality set your course and fill your sails today and every day to come.

And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account. (Hebrews 4:13 NKJV)

Think About It…
What does this passage reveal to me about God?
What does this passage reveal to me about myself?
Based on this, what changes do I need to make?
What is my prayer for today?
